FasTest Drives Lean Practices in Leak Testing Fuel Rails

New Connection Verification™ Technology Eliminates Testing Waste

Minneapolis, MN— September 12, 2018—FasTest, Inc. has partnered with a US-based vehicle component manufacturer to help maximize production output of their fuel rail production process. Before working with FasTest, the manufacturer’s leak testing process was prone to placement errors throughout the testing process, leading to a high number of false failures that caused significant re-test time. That re-test time cost the manufacturer approximately $90,000 per year!

The customer required their solution to be automated, safe, and highly accurate in order to eliminate opportunities for operator error.

FasTest Introduces New High Purity Gas Filling Quick Connector

Vacuum Optimized Quick Connector Increases Specialty Gas Revenue

Minneapolis, MN—July 25, 2018—FasTest, Inc. introduces the HPG580, a new quick connection tool for efficient filling of specialty gas cylinders. Many facilities have a difficult time meeting demand for specialty gas cylinders. Most facilities use inefficient twist-on fittings because legacy quick connectors will not hold a leak-tight seal under the extreme vacuum levels required during the high-purity filling process. FasTest’s new vacuum optimized HPG580 quick connector solves this problem.

The HPG580 was designed with vacuum optimized internal geometry that allows for reliable filling and a setup process that is 90% faster than using twist-on fittings. The industry leading 1×10-9 sccm helium vacuum leak rate maintains seal down to 30 micron. “Our goal was to create a connection tool that would help our customers deliver at least one extra specialty gas batch per day” said Dustin Sirny, Director of Advanced Technologies & Markets.”By delivering an extra batch per day, the new HPG 580 tool can help fill plants increase annual specialty gas revenue by over a million dollars.” To learn more about FasTest’s New HPG580 visit our website. FasTest Partners with Large Truck Manufacturer on Leak Test

FasTest Provides Custom Connection Solution for Leak Testing Air Brakes

Minneapolis, MN— May 30, 2018—FasTest, Inc. has partnered with a major truck manufacturer in need of a unique connection solution to leak test an air brake system on a vehicle chassis. The customer‘s goals were to reduce leak test setup time, eliminate scrap material waste, and improve operator safety throughout the process. The customer required dynamic connection solutions that could handle 80 PSI and connect to a variety of hose fitting sizes ranging from a ¼” to ¾” outside diameter. The customer also aimed to improve the ergonomics of their testing method, as their old push connector was creating repetitive motion issues for operators.

The customer’s previous testing method also required that a section of hose used to connect to the connector be removed before final assembly due to possible damage caused by the testing process. This process was time consuming and increased the amount of scrap waste.

FasTest Adds to Refrigeration Quick Disconnect (RQD) Product Line

RQD Series now Available for “Keyed” PCU Models 64 & 78 Tips

Minneapolis, MN— May 7, 2018—FasTest, Inc. has extended their Refrigeration Quick Disconnect (RQD) product series to include connections to the silver color PCU Model 64 and Model 78 quick coupling tips (a.k.a. “inserts”, “nipples”” or “plugs”) which have a different, non-interchangeable profile than the more common black color PCU Model 61 & 66 tips.  This provides an effective mechanical “keying” system that prevents accidental misconnection of fluid lines containing incompatible media that should not be mixed.
